Happy Fun Friday, SHINE girls!

I've loved getting back into the Old Testament this week! There are so many treasures in our reading. I find myself underlining and highlighting almost every sentence I've read this week. Can you relate?

As I was reading in Chapter 6 yesterday, I got mesmerized in Verses 5-9.

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates."

Did you girls get the same rush of emotion reading this? I read it several times to let it sink deeply into this heart of mine.

I want to take this passage seriously. For the rest of my life. 

Our Fun Friday Challenge:

Grab a piece of paper and a pen. Write out the 10 commandments. Yes, all ten.

Or, type them up and print them out. Whichever suits your fancy.

Now, find a place in your house to tape them. Somewhere you will see them a lot.

My children will be doing this as well. They are going to hang them in their rooms. On their door frames.

I can't think of a better visual for our hungry eyes to see each day. Not just our eyes, but the eyes of our neighbors, family and friends who will come into our homes.

We want the world to know who we belong to. Who we serve.

If you have children, talk to them about these commandments. Teach them. 

I cannot believe how these commandments come to life each time I read them. Seriously, it leaves my mouth open wide in awe. 

We serve a Mighty God. 

I'm so in love with Him today. Even more than yesterday if that's even possible.
