He sees you...

This is my third time through the Daily Walk Bible we are reading together. I am ever amazed at how God speaks to me every single time I pick it up.

I have read the book of Genesis several times over. Yet, I see things now that I never saw before.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

We are right smack in the middle of the lives of Abraham and Sarah. Are you familiar with their story?

If you have ever desired or HOPED for anything, this is the story for you.

God promised them children, in fact, many descendants.

However, at 90 (Sarah) and 100 (Abraham) years old, things seemed a little bleak.

Finally, the promise of God was fulfilled.

Don't miss the best part though...

Before the promise was fulfilled, they tried to take matters into their own hands.

The results were disastrous.

One word...Hagar.

Long story short, Sarah tells Abraham to sleep with her maid servant, Hagar. Sarah became impatient and began to doubt God would ever give them a child.

Hagar become pregnant, and Sarah begins to despise her.

Poor Hagar.

Hagar, in all of her pregnant distress, runs away.

But, that is not the end of her story.

God met Hagar in the wilderness beside a spring of water.

He comforted her and assured her that she would be okay.

She called God, "The God who sees me."

Stop right there.

Read what she said again...

The God who sees me.

Maybe 2019 was not the most wonderful year for you. I can relate.

Perhaps loss, and grief, and change swept your heart away and you feel like things will never be "right" again.

I understand.

Hagar felt this way.

God met her exactly where she was.

She was not alone. She never was.

You are not alone. You never are.

He sees you too.

He sees and He knows.

He has a plan for you too.

Just like He had a plan for Hagar.

She was not left stranded...

And neither are you.

Whether you are a parent at your wits end, a wife in a marriage that seems dead, a widow in a place of utter loneliness, a single lady praying years on end for a spouse, or just a woman who needs a whole lot of HOPE....

He sees you.

Surely, Hagar never dreamed her life would end up like this.

But, God knew. And He used her life to be a part of His Great Story.

Let the lives of Abraham, Sarah, and now Hagar minister to your weary soul.

Let His Word fill you with HOPE. Overflowing with HOPE.

Let Him meet you where you are. No need to spruce things up to meet Him...

He sees you. Right where you are.

let's keep reading,
