Let's Roll....

This is the third, yes THIRD, post this week. Seriously, on a roll here.

Today is September 11th.

Many memories flood my mind.

This is what I remember the most:

Fear
Anxiety
Worry
More fear
More anxiety
More worry

That day changed my life.

As it did all of yours.

This scripture has gotten me through many a fearful day.

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,a
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

Did you know that Todd Beamer from flight 93 on 9/11 recited this minutes before he and other men took over the hijackers? He also recited the Lord's Prayer. Seconds after, he said, "Let's Roll."

Amazing.

I think about Todd and his family so much. His wife and children were left behind. They know it will not be forever though.

When fear strikes, what do you tend to cling to?

My hope is that we all will cling to God's Word.

There's no peace like the Peace of Christ. None.

If you are struggling with fear today, I urge you to memorize this scripture. Print it out and recite it daily.

He is your Shepherd.
He is your Comforter.
He is your Prince of Peace.
He is Sovereign over all.

let's roll,

jill
