Happy Monday, SHINE girls! It's JUNE! One of my most favorite months of the whole year!

My husband Lem has a birthday in June, as well as my Dad, and of course Father's Day. We celebrate the daylights out of this month!

You know I love sunshine. And warmth. And all things shiny and bright. June exemplifies this, I think.

As I prayed about our memory verse this week, I kept hearing the word "radiant" in my spirit.

Radiant. I've heard that word before. I love that word. Radiant.

It then hit me. The word "radiant" is the very word in our SHINE girls scripture. I have this scripture seared in my heart, on this blog, and on a necklace that my sister gave me last year.

I know this scripture well. You see it every time you log on to SHINE girls.....

"Those who look to Him are radiant
and their faces shall never be ashamed"
Psalm 34:5

Don't you just love that?

To know that every time we look to Him instead of to the world, our faces are radiant?

Not only radiant, but that our faces will never show shame when it's turned to the Father.

This just brings tears to my eyes.

Shame is a powerful tool the enemy uses to make our radiant faces look down. Sullen. Beaten and bruised.

Shame is a lie the enemy feeds us to keep a shadow over our face. To keep it veiled and to hinder us from showing others His glorious radiance on our faces.

Oh, but what does His Word tell us? Read that verse again.

Can you stand it?

As you read along in Judges this week, I want you to think about those stubborn little Israelites. How they turn to idols, and sin, and disobedience.

What always transpires after about 40 or so years after they live a life apart from God?

Shame.

We've all been there, and still visit there from time to time.

However, the Lord has a message for you and me today. Right this very moment.

Take that face, turn it upwards to Him, and let Him shine His radiant love all over that beautiful face of yours.

There's no shame, only radiance when we look to Him.

No matter the amount of shame, He's got an abundance of radiance just waiting to shine on you, sweet girl.

Father, we lift our faces, our hearts and our spirits to you. We desire our faces to be upturned instead of downcast. We long to feel the warmth of your radiance. The warmth of redemption from shame. Shame draws us away from you, and we want no part of that. Give us the strength this very moment to lift our faces to you and receive our inheritance of radiance. Thank you, Father. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

feeling His warmth,

jill
