Happy Fun Friday, SHINE girls! Isn't Hebrews a breath of fresh air? I just love God's word. It's always fresh and always new.
Do you have your scripture memorized this week? Every day this week when I was getting dressed, I would think of being clothed in salvation and robed in righteousness.
It kind of makes you stand a little taller, doesn't it?
This entire week, I have been really trying to focus on enjoying the small things around me. The small things and moments that I sometimes miss because I am preoccupied with "bigger" moments.
God has been showing me that our lives are made up of small. All the small parts come together to form the big masterpiece portrait. It makes sense.
We can miss these seemingly small parts though because of our attraction to the "big" stuff.
Yesterday, I had some housework beckoning my attention. Instead, I took some time to go outside in the sunshine, sit in a well-worn chair, and write some letters to friends. The housework will always be there.
In that moment, as the sun was warming my face, I was cherishing each person to whom the note was written. Quietly thanking God for these people that He has put in my life. Oh, the thankfulness that I had in just those few solitary moments.
Time stood still. Or so it seemed.
God was showing me to enjoy, Jill, enjoy.
One of my all time favorite authors, Ann Voskamp, says it best:
“I only live the full life when I live fully in the moment.”
Our Fun Friday Challenge:
Take the time today to notice the small. Live fully in each moment.
Look out your window
Step outside and breathe some fresh air
Melt into a child's innocent eyes
Listen to others as they speak to you. Fully engage in that moment as they are speaking.
Pray over that laundry you are folding and give thanks for those that will be wearing them
Enjoy the trees and the scenery as you drive...wherever you are.
These are just a few suggestions. Your moments will be different. Make them your own, and live in them. You will be amazed at how different your day goes.
Cherish this day.
