Friday SHINE....

Today's Reading: Matthew 10

Happy Fun Friday, SHINE girls! I hope you are all smiles today as we end our week! I mean, what's not to smile about when we are reading the book of Matthew! Good, good stuff.

Today's Fun Friday Challenge:

Remember our little post from yesterday? I bet you thought of at least one dead thing that you have been hanging on to.

Go, grab a sheet of paper and a pen. I'll wait right here for you.

Seriously, go grab some paper and a pen! :)

Okay, ready?

Think about that dead weight that you have been carrying. The thing that hangs around and keeps you from truly moving forward most days.

It could be fear, worry, bitterness, pride, anger, a past relationship or decision that still haunts you, the need for constant approval from others, lack of self-control/discipline, depression, grief, a critical spirit....only you know for sure that your biggest dead weight is.

Write that big ugly dead weight on your piece of paper.

Now, take a look at that word one more time.

Ready for the fun part?

Rip it up into pieces! Yes, tiny little pieces.

It is done. It is finished, girls.

Our Savior died on that cross so that we could LIVE...truly LIVE! Why would we want to be held back from our full life because of some ugly weight hanging around all the time?

That weight does not define you. It never has and it never will. Do you hear me? It never has and it never will.

"This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" 2 Corinthians 5:17

Now, throw those pieces of ripped up paper in the trash can....where they belong. Don't look back.

That weight may get lonely and try to attach itself to your pretty little self again...don't let it. It doesn't belong to you.

"So those who are believers in Christ Jesus can no longer be condemned. The standards of the Spirit, who gives life through Christ Jesus, have set you free from the standards of sin and death." Romans 8:1-2

So, it's Fun Friday and we are 50 lbs lighter due to cutting loose that dead weight. What a way to start the weekend, huh? ;-)

feeling lighter,

jill
