Friday SHINE....

Today's Reading: Acts 18

Happy Fun Friday, SHINE girls! Are you ready for the weekend? Me too!

Just a couple of things. From our reading yesterday we learned more about Paul's travels and his teachings.

My favorite part is when Paul went to the city of Athens. The city absolutely disgusted him because all of the idols that they worshiped. The last straw for him was seeing an idol that was inscribed, "To the unknown god".

After seeing this idol, he was ready to set the town straight on who God really was. He couldn't wait to tell them all about the real God and His Son, Jesus.

Girls, are we as concerned as Paul was about the lost that surround us daily? Are we?

Are we compassionate and eager to tell them Truth?

Or are we judgmental and flippant about these "lost" souls. Do we feel sorry for them and move on? Or do we reach out to them and burn with urgency to speak the Truth in love to them.

My mind is racing with a million scenarios over my lifetime where I "moved on" instead of digging deep and sharing Truth with those that I know were lost. It makes me shudder at the times when my compassion did not override my judgmental ways.

Our Friday Challenge:

Pray for the lost today. Seriously, pray for them.

If you know someone in particular that is lost in your life, I urge you to spend this day in constant prayer for them. Lift their precious name to the Father over and over and over and over again.

Imagine where you would be without Jesus. Scary thought, isn't it? It is for me as well.

Pray for them with urgency, girls. Like their life depended on it. Because it does.

Imagine yourself lifting them up in your arms straight to the Throne of God. Oh the visual!

Lift them high, girls. He sure loves them. Just as much as He loves you.

grateful for the ones that lifted me to the Throne,

jill

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,
as some understand slowness.
He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish,
but everyone to come to repentance."
