Happy Worship Wednesday, SHINE girls!
Wow, what a difference a little "intentional" makes in your week!
I have, on purpose, been seeking the Lord more in my days. Praying more and taking the time to slow down and hear Him speak to me.
I emailed a few friends yesterday and challenged them to be intentional in their prayer time that day. God has been hammering my heart with this word, intentional.
So, all day yesterday I programmed my mind and my heart to focus on prayer. It's incredible how a little re-programming can change your day!
Here's how my day looked:
- I got a little anxious a few times= i prayed.
- I got a little down and sad a few times=i prayed.
- I got a little frustrated because I have not been able to work-out at all this week=i prayed.
- My mind started worrying over a few friends and family members=i prayed.
- I was agitated with my sweet Lem about some things=i prayed.
- My children were fussing=i prayed.
- Anxiety kicked in again=i prayed.
Girls, what a difference prayer made in my day! I wonder if I had not challenged myself and my friends to be intentional in their/our praying that day, if my day would have turned out a whole lot different.
When I prayed, my mind and my heart were focused on HIM and not my circumstances. It's true.
So, my challenge for you today is this: Be intentional in your prayer time. All day.
For my friends who did this challenge yesterday with me, do it again.
Yes, I realize that it's not Friday, when we usually have our challenge. It's okay. We will have one on Friday as well. :-)
Listen though--you do NOT have to be on your knees, hands clasped, eyes closed to pray throughout the day! Although, it is great if you do...you can also pray in your car, as you work, as you clean, as you play with your babies, you can pray anywhere at any time!! How cool is that?!
That's the beauty of our relationship with Jesus! He's our best friend! We don't have to be all perfect and poised while praying...just talk to Him. Wherever you are.
