Monday SHINE....

Today's Reading:  2 Samuel 19

Happy Monday, SHINE!

The week before Easter is one of my favorite weeks of the whole entire year. As Easter approaches, I try to imagine what every hour must have been like for Jesus before His death on the cross.

Can you even fathom the thoughts that were going through His head? Oh my goodness. I can't even begin to understand what He must have been feeling.

As you go through each day this week, take some time to focus on how Jesus would have been feeling. Notice things this week, as if it were your last week here on Earth.

Will it change our perspective? Oh, absolutely.

Our Pastor spoke yesterday morning about how Jesus must have been "dreading" the day that was coming. Jesus even sweat blood the night before His crucifixion.Yes, blood. Talk about anxious.

Did the dread change Jesus' focus and His walk? Absolutely not.

I think back on my life to so many times that I dreaded doing something. Sometimes, I just didn't do it at all because I didn't want to feel the pain or the discomfort that would accompany a certain task.

We kind of like comfort, don't we? We don't want to not feel good. We sometimes prefer easy and painless.

I wonder how those last few days before His crucifixion were different for Jesus. Every moment must have been sacred. Even more so than usual.

Focus on that this week, girls. Look around you and notice things that you would normally not see.

Ask the Lord to open your eyes to see what He sees.

Get ready, it will break Your heart for what breaks His.

My children and I have a worship CD that we listen to every morning on the way to school." Hosanna" is number 12. We play it every single morning.

The song, Hosanna,  has a lot of special meaning to me. I will save that for another blog. I will tell you, however, that the word, Hosanna, means--"save us" or "save us now."

Isn't that beautiful?

We sang the song yesterday morning at church, and it touched me more than ever. And that's saying a lot.

Listen to the song on this YouTube video if you have a minute.

Here are the lyrics. My favorite part is the very last chorus of the song. I cannot sing them without crying. Seriously. Like, ugly crying.

Hosanna

"I see the king of glory
Coming on the clouds with fire
The whole earth shakes
The whole earth shake

I see his love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing
The people sing

[Chorus]
Hosanna
Hosanna
Hosanna in the highest

I see a generation
Rising up to take their place
With selfless faith
With selfless faith

I see a near revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We're on our knees
We're on our knees

[Chorus]

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me

Break my heart from what breaks yours
Everything I am for your kingdoms cause
As I go from nothing to
Eternity
Hosanna in the highest

Heal my heart and make it clean

Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like You have loved me
Break my heart for what breaks Yours
Everything I am for Your Kingdom's cause
As I walk from earth into eternity"

Dear Jesus,

Cleanse our hearts. Take away the sin, so that we reflect Your Glory.

Open up our eyes to the things unseen. Show us how to love like You. Give us new vision this week as we see things from Your perspective. Let us see through Your eyes, Lord.

Let every moment be sacred this week, just as it must have been for You, Lord.

We praise you and we thank You for Your sacrifice.

Thank you for saving us.

Hosanna!

In Jesus name,

Amen.
